| Dear Reader,
Automotive Fraud has already increased due to the gas crises, upside down car loans, and the devaluation of used car prices for larger gas-guzzling cars (particularly Trucks and SUVs).
Asian automakers outsold Detroit's Big Three in the United States for the first time last month (June 2008). Ford sales were down 29.5%, GM 18.5%, and Chrysler was down 36%.
Conversely, Honda sales were up, and for the first time in years the Ford F-150 was outsold by compact cars such as the Accord, Civic and Camry.
Arson investigators are seeing an increase in burns of trucks and SUVs. We need to be very diligent in our investigation of claims involving the vehicles whose numbers are plummeting.
