Dear Reader,
 Lemon law fraud is the
newest 21st century car crime and it is costing
insurers and dealerships millions of dollars each
year. Just one ring we are investigating in
California involves losses of over
50 million dollars! This type of fraud has
been flying under the radar.
Move over
arson fraud, here comes Implied Warranty fraud via
abusing the Song-Beverly Consumer Warranty Act
(California's Lemon Law) and the Magnussan-Moss
Act (Federal). These thieves are using the lemon
laws to obtain up to three times the value of each
vehicle plus attorneys' fees by intentionally
damaging vehicle components to make it look like a
warranty issue.
The scam involves high-end
leased vehicles such as Mercedes, BMW, Porsche,
and Cadillac with sabotage of Engine management
systems, SRS (airbag), Electrical, Steering,
Engine or Transmission.
Just like
traditional fraud rings; there are dishonest
attorneys', independent leasing and repair
facilities, and well as cappers operating this
scam.
Investigators can contact us directly for details
of the scams and what evidence to look for.
